Reminiscences, 2006.

Collection consists of two reminiscences. The first discusses the Block Y and various activities associated with it. The second discusses the Brigham Young University in the 1930s and describes the different buildings on campus as well as student life. It also includes a discussion of the first cougar mascots.

Alexander Wadley was born 24 October 1911 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He worked for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation from 1941-1952. He commenced working at Brigham Young University in May 1952 as the Engineer for the Physical Plant Department and worked there until 1958. Plans for the David O. McKay building began in 1952 after an evaluation by the Brigham Young University College of Education concluded that the existing building for the College of Education were no longer meeting the growing needs of the program. Plans were officially announced in February of 1954 with the completion deadline being set for December of the same year.
